Finally it’s time to unleash the beast. Rustie’s ‘Bad Science’ will be available next week (17th August) at all fine record stores across the galaxy and beyond.
First pressings (all the ones out on release date) feature a sick picture sleeve with spot varnish (shiny text, see below) designed by our friends Remote Location and Konx-Om-Pax. That’s ‘limited edition’ if you need it spelled out.
For this heavily anticipated release, we’ve also tempted a rare remix from Heinrich Mueller; being one of both Rustie and Wireblock’s all time heroes through his work as one half of Drexciya and his Dopplereffekt, Der Zyklus and Japanese Telecom guises. If you don’t know… better ask somebody. See this mix for a glimpse into the ocean…
Bad Science Quotes:
“A hypercolour sound palette of eight-bit bleeps, gun-clap percussion, and laser synths that sound like Sonic The Hedgehog twirling a stripper’s pole. Importantly, though, it’s the way he stitches sounds together - for the floor, not the chin-strokers - that’s the secret of his success.”
Guardian Guide - Single Of The Week
“Rustie is one of the most unique and thrilling next generation producers in the UK right now. There’s more goes on in 10 minutes inside his riotous young mind, than in many people’s entire careers!”
Mary Anne Hobbes - BBC Radio 1
“Rustie is hands down one of the most exciting producers in music today, period. I’ve been slamming ‘Bad Science’ for months.”
Starkey - Planet Mu.
Also played heavily by the likes of Kode9, Martyn, Modeselektor, Oneman, Crookers, Busy P, Seiji, Hudson Mohawke and more. The list goes on, and on.

More stores coming soon
Emvee lays down an absolute banger from the rougher side of UK funky. Single of the week over at Boomkat and the 12″ has sold out of it’s first pressing in just 5 days. Check out what the famous dudes have been saying:
Martyn (3024): “im gonna play these”
Sinden (Dubsided, Cheap Thrills): “smashing it mate. i will be dropping on the radio show and in my club sets.”
Oneman (FWD, Rinse FM): “the emvee thing is insane, love it.”
Kode9 (Hyperdub): “that emvee thing has been doin some damage. cool release”
If UK Funky is something new to you you should check out shows on London’s FM stations like Rinse.fm or Deja Vu - sets by Marcus Nasty, D Malice, Mak10, Lil Silva and Kode9 have been particularly rocking our boats but there are loads of good DJs and people out there really pushing this sound. Have a cop of Jack’s 40 Minutes of Funkyish too.

Forthcoming 12inch compilation dropping real soon featuring 4 killer solo artists representing Glasgow, San Francisco, Berlin and Heidelberg.
This was initially meant to be our first release (in 2005 no less), but due to various issues (music, artwork, mastering and more) it has been delayed for a criminal amount of time.
We’re glad to finally get it out there, the artists featured are well worthwhile exploring more if you have time to dig a little deeper into their past releases.
Artwork was made by our man FiST from Glasgow.

Out now and limited to 500 12″s - digital on sale soon.
Music at Nite is the project from brothers C & D Clark hailing from Glasgow.
D (Dave to his mum) is known for his music under the name ‘Truffle Club’ on O.S.C.A.R.R. and Stuffrecords, most recently releasing the magnificent track “Gone Blue” on Dissident. You might also recognize him from his work as one half of the Optimo remix team beside J.D. Twitch (both have been busy recently remixing for DFA, Tigersushi and Eskimo).
The duo have come up with a rare beast of an EP (in our humble opinions). Absorbing influences from the glitches of micro-haus to the motor-city aquaticism of Drexciya.
